American Seating praise
American Seating attracted honors from three directions this spring. Its InSight seating for public transportation was one of 778 products to win the iF (international Forum) prize, while its Vision stainless steel seat for bus and rail won the Good Design award. Both prizes were in the transportation category. A change in its meal pretreatment process led Corp! magazine to give the company its Green Initiative Champion award. Led by Fred Kauppila, American Seating’s superintendent of architectural environments, the initiative eliminated the discharge of phosphates and reduced water use and demand for hot water.
