BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – New seats are coming to Coca-Cola Field, a project made possible by a public-private partnership with the City of Buffalo and the Buffalo Bisons.
The 22′ seats, three inches wider than the current ones installed at the baseball diamond, will replace some 3,700 seats in the stadium’s special reserved sections. Seats from the lower seating bowl from sections 114 on the first base side to 113 on the third base side will be installed following the end of the Bisons 2014 season.
Mayor Byron Brown said, “This over $758,000 investment for the installation of new seating is part of the city’s continued commitment to the ballpark and the overall fan experience.”
The seats currently in place at Coca-Cola Field are the original seats installed at the ballpark for the inaugural 1988 season. Not only are the seats six years past their life expectancy, replacement parts to maintain the seating areas are not readily available.
Jonathan A. Dandes, President of Rich Baseball Operations, said, “These new seats will not only add to the fan experience at Bisons games for years to come, but also provide a vital update to the now-obsolete original fixtures installed in the ballpark 27 seasons ago.”
The seats were designed by American Seating, which has worked with the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Orioles, Philadelphia Phillies and Cleveland Indians.

Eliott Copier’s first major design out of Ferris State’s Kendall College of Art & Design wowed judges at NeoCon 2014.

American Seating was featured in the May issue of Interior Design Magazine, the Neocon Market Preview issue. Interior Design featured American Seating’s new Us Chair family. American Seating was also listed in a “round-up” section called “Live and Learn” in this issue that showcases educational furniture.
