By: Jennifer K. Gorsche

With an eye on durability, maintenance, and the pricing needs of both K-12 and higher educational institutions, the new Core line uses fewer components to cut down on replacements and repairs. Available in floor or riser mounts, six widths and two heights, in additional to a range of colors and upgrade options, the line exceeds LEED MR 4 requirements. Three Observations from Neocon 2012
Posted in Architectural on July 03, 2012

June 28th, 2012 by Matt Spaulding

Another NeoCon, the world’s largest expo for contract furniture, furnishings and all that goes with it, is officially in the books. From June 11-13, hundreds of manufacturers and thousands of attendees swarmed over the venerable Merchandise Mart in downtown Chicago to view and talk about the best in commercial design and architecture. And what a time it was!

2012 marked my ninth year attending NeoCon and this was one of the best shows I can recall. A major reason for that was because one of our clients, American Seating, had a wonderfully successful launch for its new Us Chair Family. A TON of work went into this launch by everyone at American Seating and those partner companies like Studio Weber + Associates (the product’s designer), Guido-Clark Design (the colorist for the chair), Spaulding Communications, Intent PR and others. American Seating’s sales force was energized by the new portfolio, visitors were wowed by the new showroom (designed by Studio Weber and Guido-Clark Design) and the media were excited to see American Seating back at NeoCon with an exciting new product.

Earlier this month, Metropolis editors called out the top spaces, products, and ideas that they really liked at NeoCon, in integrated social media coverage known as Metropolis Likes. They sought out design solutions that our editor in chief, Susan S. Szenasy, describes as “unexpected and urgent—ideas that strike us as beautiful, useful and brilliant”.

American Seating: Us Chairs
The Us family of chairs is specifically designed to meet the dynamic needs of colleges and universities. Its back flex design allows you to sit comfortably for longer.
